Company description

Established in 1939, the CSS Pension Plan (the Plan) supplies retirement products and services to over 330 co-operatives and credit unions across Canada through a member-owned, non-profit pension society. With over $4B under administration and more than 48,000 members, the Plan is one of Canada’s largest defined contribution (DC) pension plans.

Summary

The CSS Pension Plan is seeking a highly motivated, conscientious individual to join its pension administration team. The primary responsibility for this position is to deliver excellent service to CSS members and stakeholders fielding incoming communications, greeting members and other stakeholders of CSS, maintaining CSS member records and other data entry tasks, and delivering a variety of administrative support services.

 

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be a proactive self-starter who will have primary responsibility for:   

  • Reception, incoming communications, daily mail and courier processing

  • Data entry and maintenance of CSS member records in the pension administration system

  • Maintenance of office supplies

  • Backup to other administrative functions

  • Daily, Monthly, and Annual administrative tasks


Qualifications

Typically, the knowledge and skills required to succeed in this position will have been acquired through completion of a recognized business course.  Previous experience in the areas of pensions, benefits, registered plans or financial institutions is considered an asset.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

  • An innate ability to deliver member service in a pleasant and professional manner

  • Excellent organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize and manage competing demands

  • Significant experience working with Microsoft Office applications

  • A passion for accuracy in their work and attention to detail

  • Previous experience in a financial institution or pensions setting


This position offers a competitive salary and excellent benefits. The position reports to the Plan’s Administration Manager.
