‚ÄčNotice of bylaw and rule changes

On April 23, 2021, Co-operative Superannuation Society (CSS) delegates approved a new bylaw concerning alternative meeting formats and revised the CSS Pension Plan rule that outlines the communication parameters for disputes. The changes come in the wake of COVID-19 and allow business to be conducted virtually if needed.

Under the new bylaw, the Board may choose to hold the annual meeting in an alternative format, such as online or by written resolution, rather than conducting an in-person meeting.

The new bylaw will be enforced if travel and gathering restrictions, or other matters, deem it unfeasible to hold the annual meeting in person.

Rule 10.16 was revised to provide further clarity to Plan members, employers and beneficiaries on the process for resolving disputes about the application of rules or accumulated benefits under the Plan.

The new bylaw became effective April 23, 2021, and the revised rule became effective on June 24, 2021.
